See the MoneyShow's "Top Picks" Report — And We're In It
With 78 recommendations from 44 experts, it's a hot ticket ...
Forty years is a long time.
Forty years is how long I’ve been writing about Big Trends, the top stories of the day, the global economy, stocks and more.
Forty years is also how long the MoneyShow has been helping investors build better lives for themselves by taking charge of their financial futures.
The MoneyShow is the bluest of blue chips — a rare organization that really still does put investors first.
So here in our first year on Substack, I was honored to have MoneyShow Editor-in-Chief Mike Larson invite me to be a featured expert in his organization’s 2025 Top Picks Report, which was released on Monday.
Truth be told, I’m still kinda pinching myself.
Each year — via an array of in-person symposiums and virtual conferences — the MoneyShow connects investors and traders with a terrific roster of financial experts. (And that’s not hype: Thanks for that afore-mentioned 40 years in the business, I know a lot of these experts personally — and I’ve worked with several of them for decades.)
And over the last few decades, the MoneyShow kicks off each New Year by reaching out to those experts — and asking them to contribute their “best ideas.”
They call it that previously mentioned Top Picks Report … and it generates a nice buzz.
This year the rules were simple: Mike asked folks for their best pick for “price appreciation” and their best idea for income.
Here at Stock Picker’s Corner (SPC), those requests are “right in our wheelhouse.”
This year’s report includes dozens of recommendations that cross an array of sectors and asset classes.
“They range from conservative, quality blue-chip names for safe-and-steady returns to high-growth stocks with massive potential upside,” he said in releasing this year’s report. “Yet each pick has something in common: They come from experts whose track records speak for themselves, and who have helped MoneyShow attendees, readers, and viewers grow their wealth in both good times and bad.”
Our choices were Palantir Technologies Inc. (PLTR) for stock-price appreciation and Ares Capital Corp. (ARCC) for income.
We talked about Palantir as the “hottest” defense stock in July — and as a major player in New Cold War storyline.
And we spotlighted Ares Capital during the launch of SPC as a company to own for “real income”— meaning income investments that generate actual cash flow … and put “real” money in your pocket (after backing out taxes, inflation, and prevailing market rates) — because of its 8.6% yield.
To see my latest “takes” on these two stocks, you can download the MoneyShow report here. And there’s a pretty great bonus: You’ll also see 78 total recommendations from 44 contributors.
Mike says the goal of this is “to give you insightful and actionable investment ideas which you can put to work as you see fit.”
That sounds like something Wealth Builders like us would say.
And it’s a stance we can definitely get on board with.
Tell the MoneyShow folks “Bill sent me.”
And thank you Mike and the MoneyShow Family.
See you next time;
