I’m about to commit “investment blasphemy.”
You’ve been warned …
As I write this, the S&P 500 is down for its fifth-straight day – putting that broad U.S. stock index on this longest losing streak since October. All three of the major indices are down this week – including the S&P (down 2%) and the Nasdaq Composite (down 3%).
Here comes the blasphemy (last chance to turn away).
I don’t care.
From a Big-Picture point of view, I really don’t care what the broad stock indices do today, tomorrow, next week, next month or even next year.
I care about the long run.
The long run where the winners get separated from the losers.
The long run is where our mistakes (and every investor occasionally makes them) come out in the wash.
The long run is where real wealth is made.
But long run doesn’t mean “buy-and-hold forever” (though it can).
And it (definitely) doesn’t mean you play “day trader” with stocks or options, moving in and out of shares at will.
Remember the mantra here at Stock Picker’s Corner (SPC): You’re either a Wealth Builder … or a Wealth Killer.
Wealth Builders follow our blueprint.
They don’t succumb to pessimism – they just look for opportunities.
They make time their ally.
They understand that, over time, stock values move higher.
And they identify the very best narratives: As I say, “find the best storylines, and you’ll find the best stocks.”
I’m bringing you those storylines – and the companies that can benefit. Our work here is focused on helping you become – and remain – a true Wealth Builder.
So when stocks go up, we make money.
When stocks go down, we look at our long-term storylines, and look at what we want to be buying.
In terms of storylines, we’ve already told you about:
The AI Era, which is more than just chipmakers. One company mentioned: Blackstone Inc. BX 0.00%↑.
Essential Income, which demands a “bottom-line,” cash-flow mindset for high-yield wealth plays. One true “passive-income” play mentioned: Annaly Capital Management Inc. NLY 0.00%↑.
Special Situations, which include spinoffs and opportunities in silver and copper.
The New Cold War, which intersects with AI and Special Situations, is helping drive deglobalization, and which will drive hefty opportunities in drones, cybersecurity, defensive weaponry, and more.
The New Biotech, which will be defined by the Next Blockbusters, personalized medicine, AI and datanomics, and consolidation. Among the beneficiaries we’ve talked about here are the new class of GLP-1 weight-loss drugs being marketed by companies like Novo Nordisk NVO 0.00%↑ and Eli Lilly & Co. LLY 0.00%↑ , and the leading “Pet Biotech” Zoetis Inc. ZTS 0.00%↑.
I’m looking at several other powerful storylines, too.
I’ll keep bringing them your way … so be sure to keep visiting.
This exercise in “Investing Blasphemy” will make you an opportunist.
See you back here next time:
