Today We're Adding a New Special-Situation Stock
Our "Super 10" Portfolio Lives Up to its Name - With a 3-for-1 Breakup
In late November — just ahead of the Thanksgiving holiday — we saw that our “Super 10 Special-Situation” stock Dutch Bros Inc. (BROS) had zoomed 60% in the 10 weeks since we’d created that special-situation stock portfolio for you, our SPC Premium members.
And why not?
Our Model Portfolio is built for long-term investing, but the “Super 10” — as special-situation stocks — was created with more of an intermediate-term horizon in mind.
And getting a 60% gain in such a super-short time span … with massive uncertainty careening our way … why not just put that profit in your pocket?
Think about that a minute: That’s 6% a week — or an annualized equivalent of 312%. And that annualized equivalent would also translate to 28 years’ worth of the stock market’s long-term annual average of 11%.
But by booking that gain, our “Super 10” was pared to the “Super 9.”
We like the first name better than the second.
And I promised that I’d circle back with a new stock recommendation to boost that portfolio back to 10 … and I’m keeping that promise today.
I’m delivering a “three-fer” — a planned corporate breakup that will turn an American corporate icon into three separate companies … each in sectors that we already like a lot.
So here you go …
