Apple Inc. $AAPL owns the crown as the iDevice King. And it’s built one of the greatest “ecosystems” in the history of technology.
But investors are kings, too — of the “what-have-you-done-for-me-lately” mindset.
We’re seeing that super-short-term mindset at play right now: iPhone sales have stumbled, China demand is slowing, the vaunted App Store is under regulatory scrutiny, the healthcare foray is taking longer than expected and the recently launched Vision Pro headset didn't generate the hoped-for buzz.
And investors believe Apple fumbled its artificial intelligence (AI) foray.
Here at Stock Picker’s Corner (SPC), we believe in several (other) things:
We believe investors are either Wealth Builders, or Wealth Killers.
We believe too many investors end up as Wealth Killers because their “default setting” is that afore-mentioned short-term mindset.
And we believe you can “remake yourself” into a Wealth Builder by “reprogramming yourself” and adopting this longer-term belief: If you find the best storylines, you’ll find the best stocks.
The AI Era is one of the storylines we’re following. Investors see it as a make-or-break proposition for Apple, one of the most-widely held stocks on the planet. With the company set to unveil its AI strategy at the 2024 edition of its Worldwide Developers Conference — set for Monday June 10 — we wanted to give folks an advance look at what’s to come.
For those “here’s-what-to-expect” insights, SPC Chief Stock Picker Bill Patalon turned to David Zeiler, a longtime friend, colleague and Apple expert who’s spent decades following the company. In this interview, Bill and Dave handicap Apple’s AI announcements.
This is the third piece of SPC’s “deep dive” into Apple’s “Next Act.”
As mentioned at the end of the video, below are the links to Part 1 and Part 2 of our Apple series:
Apple’s Next Act Part I: A Heady Vision – where we delve into the vastly underrated-and-misunderstood plan to bolster its vaunted ecosystem by creating the Vision Pro headset.
Apple’s Next Act Part II: Keeping That Doctor Away – where we investigate the current status and future upside of the company’s data-driven foray into health.
